What is the speed limit in the state ofIsrael?
Tourists that arriveIsraelcan't help but notice the difference between streets in Europe and theUnited Statesand the streets ofIsrael.
All in all, the worlds perception ofIsraelis that she is an advanced state : High tech, transportation and more
We, the transportation services and drivers are aware of the transport development inIsraelin the last few years: a new toll turnpike, faster lanes, big interchanges, and in general, the whole field of vehicles and transportations inIsrael. But the tourists that arrive from abroad and especially these from western civilizations can see that we are actually "transport primitive"if only because of the driving speed limitations on intercity highways and turnpikes.
This week the Transportation Minister ofIsraelpermitted the speed limit of "6" road (known as the "Israel Turnpike") to rise up to 120 kph, but informed that drivers will be able to drive up to 130 kph.
When hearing this information, Shmuel Abuhab, the general manager of green light fellowship, called out that the permition of a 130 kph speed limit should be canceled and by far, any speed above 110 kph should be forbidden becauseIsrael's roads aren't constructed safely enough to bear these high speed levels.
Go explain the European tourist arriving in Ben Gurion airport, a very modern and finely built airport, that the permitted speed inIsrael's highways and turnpikes is only 110 kph.
Although most accidents aren't caused on account of speed, still there are people and above them, Shmuel Abuhab, that claim that increasing the driving speed will put people's lives in danger.
We, in INTL, guide our drivers not to exceed the permitted speed by law, but it would make us very happy if the speed limits inIsraelwould increase for the comfort of the passengers: Israeli and tourists.
